Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Regarding Basic Life Support in Postgraduate Medical Students in Atertiary Care Medical Institute of Western Maharashtra

Background: An adequate knowledge and practice of providing Basic Life Support (BLS) a positive attitudetowards initiating the procedure is very necessary among postgraduate medical students. The objective thisstudy was to assess knowledge, attitude regarding BLS studentsin tertiary care institute.Methods: In present cross-sectional study, 160 students were assessed using predefinedquestionnaire based on American Heart Association’s guidelines. Students who gave consent participatewere included those filled questionnaire incomplete excluded from study. Data analysis wasdone by calculating mean scores converting that into percentages Microsoft Excel. Odds ratiowas calculated compare clinical non-clinical students.Conclusion: Participants trained recently had better than many years ago. All participantsshowed towards BLS. Clinical are 16.2 times more likely have an averageknowledge (OR: 16.2) 4.84 at 4.84) postgraduatestudents concluding repeated training all especially working in nonclinicaldepartments important.
